Extra appointments are being provided in the evening and at weekends from premises in Harrogate and Ripon, making it easier for you to get an appointment at a time that suits you. The service is an extension of your GP practice and offers pre-bookable, routine primary care appointments with a range of clinicians including, GPs, nurses, pharmacists and healthcare assistants.

Dr Ingram and Partners are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare. We have a clinical team of 7 doctors, 3 nurses and a healthcare assistant. We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, minor surgery, childhood vaccinations and well person check-ups.

The surgery is based on Park Street opposite the junction to Firby Lane and 50 metres from Ripon Hospital. The practice works on two floors and has disabled access, and an automatic door into the surgery and a lift providing access to the 1st floor.

Our practice was inspected by the CQC (Care Quality Commission) as part of the routine inspection programme, on 11th May 2016 and rated good.

Appointments

The surgery is open Monday to Friday 8 am to 6 pm. We offer a number of appointments for patients who are unable to attend the surgery during normal working hours:

Friday mornings 7.30-8.00am with our Healthcare Assistant

Evenings 6.30-8.00pm on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (on a rota basis) with a Doctor or a Nurse

Our telephone service is not available outside of normal working hours and access to the building is only for patients who have appointments.

Doctors in Ripon North House Surgery

We are proud to have served the Ripon community for over 100 years. With a large on-site car park, we are located within the city centre on North Street (HG4 1HL) and offer: Recording of Telephone Calls

Please note that telephone calls may be recorded for training and monitoring purposes North House as a Training Practice

North House is a training practice where doctors, already qualified, learn about general practice before becoming GPs themselves. With your approval you may be offered an appointment with one of these doctors.

Parking/Disabled Access

We have a large car park for the use of patients attending the surgery and this includes two bays near the entrance ramp which are specifically reserved for the disabled. There is also a cycle rack at the North Street end of the car park and a safe pram park.

The car park is essential for less able patients. Please do not leave your car in our car park whilst you shop in the town!

In addition, there is ramped access for wheelchairs. We have a practice wheelchair for patients who need help getting into or around the surgery. Please ask the reception staff if you would like to use our wheelchair. If you would like assistance entering the front entrance, please ring the bell.

Audio Loop – We have an audio loop for the hard of hearing.

Practice Services – As well as looking after your general health and wellbeing, every doctor provides a full range of services such as maternity, contraceptive, minor surgery, minor injury and child health surveillance services.

The partnership practises from purpose-built premises on the corner of Park Street and Firby Lane. There is a private car park at the rear for the use of patients using the surgery. There is disabled ramp access from the car park with automatic doors into the main building.

Named GP

From 1st April 2015 onwards, Practices are required under GMS Contract, to allocate a named accountable GP to all patients, including children.

It is important that you are aware that we work as a team and this allocation does not change the way in which we operate or affect your ability to make an appointment or speak with any of the GPs in the Practice.

Should you express a wish to change your named GP, we will do our best to accommodate your request wherever possible.

Repeat Prescriptions

Do you need to re-order your medication?

Visit our prescriptions page and complete the online form.

From April 2019 you will no longer be able to order your repeat prescriptions by telephone for safety reasons.

What do I need to do?

There are different ways to order:

You, or a family member, can order your prescription online You can do this at any time of the day or night. You will need a password from the surgery.

Place the tear-off part of your repeat prescription in the prescriptions box in the surgery.

Post your repeat prescription to the surgery.

The practice is required by the Government under the terms of the latest GP contract to allocate all patients a named accountable GP.

Your named GP will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides you. However these arrangements do not prevent you for seeing any GP or nurse in the practice, as you currently do, and does not mean personal availability for this GP throughout the working week.

If you wish to be told the name of your accountable GP, please ask at your next appointment. Please Note: There is no need to telephone the practice for this information.

New patients will be assigned a Named GP within 21 days of registration.
